LAKE OVERVIEW
Warwick Lane is a well-established lake with clear water and at times can be fairly weedy. At 3.6 acres in size, it contains two main islands, bays and gravel bars, all of which are known fish-holding areas. For the carp angler it holds a good head of fish with some of the larger residents weighing in excess of 30lbs. There are also some large pike and perch for those who enjoy their predator fishing plus decent sized roach, rudd and tench for the general coarse angler.
** IMPORTANT NOTICE **
If you accidentally cast into the trees or snags, don't pull for a break, phone the fishery managers or head bailiff first. If they can't get over to you as soon as possible, please tie the line off to the nearest tree, pole or secure object.

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT FAILURE TO DO THIS IS ALSO A RULE BREAK.
LATEST NEWS...
Netting operation | December 2023

We undertook a very successful netting operation at Warwick Lane in early December last year with over 850lbs of silver fish removed and re-homed. This was done to re-balance the biomass of the lake as the sliver fish population was becoming too large.
Some members have commented that their carp fishing has improved since the netting took place, and we've also noticed that some of the new carp introduced last year have gained significant weight.
Re-stocking programme
Following a successful introduction of fish back in January, another 10 common carp were added to the lake recently. This brings the total amount of fish introduced so far to 58 and means that the overall stock of the lake is now pretty much back to where it was before the oxygen crash a couple of years ago.
The committee will be discussing whether or not further stocking is required and will update members once a decision has been made.
The Warwick Lane Weed Pull.
The annual weed pull took place over the weekend of 3rd/4th September, click here or on the image below for more info plus video and photos taken on the day.
New aeration system installed at the lake.
After the oxygen crash at the end of the summer last year that led to the tragic loss of a number of our fish, we decided to take measures to avoid this happening again in the future. Thanks to a grant from the Environment Agency, we're pleased to announce that we've had a state-of-the-art aeration system installed. This should go a long way to keep oxygen levels up during the warmer months and keep our valuable inhabitants safe and healthy.

Below are a couple of videos showing the system in action.

LAKE-SPECIFIC RULES
-
Anglers MUST NOT bring their own landing nets, unhooking mats or weigh slings onto the lake, they have been provided by the club and there is a set in each swim for you all to use – please care for them as you would your own equipment and ensure you have put them back as you found them

-
Bait boats are permitted and are charged at £30 per permit – this runs alongside your membership ticket and must be purchased from the fishery managers on the bank before using one. Please use them in moderation and do not encroach on another swim if another member is fishing it - designated swim boundaries can be found on the noticeboard map.
LAKE MANAGERS
Lake Managers Dan, Mike and Dan are all tasked with maintaining the lake, looking after the fish as well as the surrounding environment. A lot of time, effort and dedication is put into running the venue - much of which goes unnoticed - but as any member who fishes Warwick will tell you, they've made some great improvements, are friendly and approachable and on hand to answer any questions you may have or give you advice.
